Better sound, more music, new products, more HiFi. Read about the year in retrospect.
We kickstarted the year in a fantastic way, with two ‘2022 Editors Choice’ Awards from The Absolute Sound. One for the Børresen 05 loudspeaker and the other for the Ansuz D2 cable series. These two awards also marked the beginning of a profitable year in terms of awards for Audio Group Denmark.
In our part of the world in February Corona was no longer considered to be a threat to society. This meant that everything started to open again, and we could finally start to attend Hi-Fi shows. The Florida Audio Expo show was the first show we attended after the global lockdown.
In Marts two major things happened for us. First, we introduced our new website. The website was created with the goal to design a website that provides a more user-friendly browsing experience that offers quick access product information. The other thing that occurred in that month, and something we are particularly proud of, was that our unique, innovative, and unprecedented technological iron-free magnet system got patented in the United States.
April was the month where we went through some organizational changes, with the appointment of Kent Sørensen as the new CEO. In continuation of this we received a larger capital infusion from the investor group, Vækst Invest, with the aim of ensuring the continued positive development that Audio Group Denmark is currently going through in addition to contributing with their experience from other similar companies with additional scaling and focus on growth. Vækst Invest is the perfect match for us due to the common core values and visions for the future.
The month of May is an extremely important month for us, as it is the month where the Hi-Fi show High End Munich takes place. We were overshadowed for almost three years by the impact of Covid-19, which had made travel very difficult and resulted in many cancelled trade shows around the world. So, it was a great pleasure for us to finally return to one of the most important events of the year, the HIGH END Munich. We were very excited to showcase prototypes of the Børresen M-1 loudspeaker, the Aavik I-880, the Børresen X-3, and cables from the Ansuz Gold Signature Series.
Summer is typically a quieter period in the Hi-Fi industry, however in June we packed our suitcases and flight cases with cables, electronic devices and loudspeakers and traveled to the United States once again. In collaboration with our local dealers, we successfully exhibited a wide range of products from our three brands at The Home Entertainment Show in Los Angeles, Long Beach.
In Juli Børresen’s Audio engineering division officially launched the new M1 loudspeaker. The development approach and design philosophy for the M1 was to create a loudspeaker without any economic and technological constraints and with an absolutely unrivalled sound potential. The M1 is the absolute high-end version of a loudspeaker that incorporates all the premium elements of the most innovative and advanced audio technologies that both Ansuz, Aavik and Børresen stands for.
As the end of the summer approached, and with several new products in our portfolio, we stood before an exciting fall with more product launches and even more show activities. In August we attended the Norddeutsche HiFi-Tage in Germany, which also marked the beginning of a very busy fall for us, in terms of show activities around the world.
September was a busy but successful month in terms of show activities. In Europe we were represented both at the HIFI Messen in Horten, Norway, and at the Süddeutsche HiFi-Tage in Germany. In Asia we attended the show Audionice in Bangkok, Thailand. Furthermore, this was the month when our great partner in Singapore Audio Maestro opened a new and beautiful Ansuz, Aavik and Børresen store.
In October we celebrated Ansuz Acoustics 10 years anniversary. 10 years of groundbreaking innovations, unrivalled passion for music, and an unwavering scientific curiosity to tap into unchartered realms of audio technology. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ansuz, we introduced a limited edition of a special Ansuz Darkz. Furthermore, we also launched the Ansuz Sparkz TC3 in October.
In October we also had quite a lot of travel activities. It took us far and wide from Vietnam and Malaysia to Sweden and Poland.
In November we finally launched the Aavik 880 series. We expanded our range of amplifiers with our new flagship Aavik 880 series. The 880 series is our most innovative and sophisticated amplifier production to date. This launch also marked the beginning of a dynamic, and productive collaboration between Michael Børresen’s with his innovative approach, and Flemming Erik Rasmussen’s artistic and aesthetic design touch. A collaboration that will continue in 2023.
During 2022, we have received great number of awards for a wide range of our products. In December, the year comes to an end and the magazines and journalists selects this year’s best products. This means that, December has also been a particularly profitable month regarding awards. Among other awards, we have received the ‘Winner 2022’ from Hi-Fi+ for our Aavik R-580, as well as the ‘Highly Commended’ award for the Aavik D-580. Furthermore, The Ear has awarded us with the ‘Best of 2022’ award, for two of our products, the Aavik D- and S-180. We are very humble, proud, and happy for this recognition and we look forward to a new year with even more awards, product launches and show activities.
